Going over the hump this week after the third week of the build season has come to completion. The team is very focused on where everything stands right now and are working diligently to make sure all of the components of this years robot. As of right now, the bot is about 97% completed in terms of design. The team is making parts non stop and still has a handful left to go. As for the programming team, they are hard at work on their systems for the robot as well. Our electrical and management sub teams have been gearing up with their jobs over the past few days as well.
Design is coming along and should be fully completed this upcoming weekend except for sub-assembly 5 which is still under review. Many factors are going to be going into it when it comes to game time so we really have to see how everything plays out with the next week and a half before we get a full detailed design done. For the most part, the robot should be coming together with most of our competition parts being sent out for powder coating and anodizing this weekend.
The programming sub team is up to a lot as well. With the amount of sensors and the camera tracking, they have their hands full when it comes to the actual integration to the robot. Last time that I had checked with the team, they were hard at work figuring out algorithms for our ball handling mechanism and seeing what exactly we could compute with the robot for our tracking.
Electrical and Management are getting their hands dirty this week with all of the things that they are accomplishing. Various awards as well as power distribution layouts have been under reviews and it seems like everything is really coming together. Overall, the past 3 weeks have been very fast and exciting for the Greybots and they are sure to pick up the pace and introduce our bot within the coming weeks.
