About 973 - FRC Team 973: Greybots

About 973

The Greybots Robotics program is an extra-curricular activity made up of students from Atascadero High School that is geared towards engaging high school students to become innovators in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. However, the program doesn't  stop there. The team ventures into marketing, business, media production, and other endless opportunities for the students. While students are together building robots, they are also getting guidance from mentors who show them technical skills as well as life skills. The program is for anyone that is currently attending Atascadero High School.

Not only do the Greybots associate themselves with the high school, but they also associate themselves throughout the Atascadero Community. Participating in multiple fundraisers and community events, the team focuses on making sure that the program is known in the entire area. Over the past few years, the Central Coast has come to know the Atascadero Greybots as an elite robotics team that manages to shape the minds of young students.

In association with California Polytechnic State University, the Greybots learn from multiple college mentors that attend the San Luis Obispo college. The college students use their knowledge and time to make sure that the students of the team not only understand the key points of robotics, but learn how important STEM careers are to our everyday lives.
